Software Engineer, Financial Engineering

About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced software engineer to design and build next-generation billing and monetization systems supporting ChatGPT and API products. You'll architect scalable billing infrastructure handling both subscription and usage-based models while collaborating across product, finance, and go-to-market teams.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop billing and monetization systems for OpenAI's products
• Build full-stack billing integrations supporting ChatGPT and API customers
• Design flexible billing platforms handling subscription and usage-based offerings at enterprise scale
• Create internal tools enabling teams to leverage billing data in workflows
• Collaborate with product, data, finance, and GTM stakeholders on billing requirements
• Own production system development, scaling, and launch of new billing capabilities
