About this role
OpenAI seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build foundational systems powering safe, compliant youth and family experiences across its products. You'll architect identity infrastructure, age verification pipelines, and guardian tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams to set standards for how families interact with generative AI.
What you'll do
- Architect and implement teen and guardian experiences across OpenAI products including ChatGPT
- Build globally compliant age assurance systems that preserve privacy while meeting regional regulations
- Design scalable identity infrastructure supporting secure user journeys at consumer internet scale
- Define safety and well-being metrics and improve user trust through technical interventions
- Own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end across policy, research, legal, and product functions
