Applied AI Engineer, Internal Automation
About this role
OpenSesame is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to transform internal automation by converting AI prototypes into production-ready systems and building a scalable component library for internal business teams. You'll establish engineering rigor through TDD and CI/CD practices while partnering with non-technical departments to create reusable AI workflows and intelligent automation tools.
What you'll do
- Mature existing AI proofs-of-concept into reliable, production-grade RAG systems and intelligent workflows
- Establish and maintain a reusable component library enabling rapid deployment of AI-driven automation across business units
- Partner with internal AI Champions across Sales, Marketing, and Finance to identify bottlenecks and prioritize automation opportunities
- Implement Test-Driven Development, CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, and monitoring standards
- Reduce manual deployment steps and improve release reliability through pipeline optimization and Terraform-based infrastructure
- Create documentation and self-serve capabilities that empower non-technical teams to scale intelligent workflows independently
