About this role

Opto seeks a Backend Software Engineer to build scalable solutions for private markets investing. You'll own full-stack features using Python, FastAPI, and AWS, working alongside experienced engineers to transform the alternative investments industry.

What you'll do

  • Own delivery of high-quality software projects, coordinating timelines with teammates and stakeholders
  • Contribute across product development phases: specification, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, and operations
  • Design and implement REST APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI
  • Participate in engineering recruiting, interviewing, and role ownership
  • Iterate rapidly on solutions to eliminate ambiguity and drive projects forward
  • Support AI/LLM applications for data extraction and document generation
