Backend Software Engineer - Infrastructure

About this role

Palantir is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to develop infrastructure and foundational systems for their Foundry and Gotham platforms. You'll design scalable, secure building blocks including database technologies and distributed systems that power mission-critical applications across government and enterprise sectors. The role includes opportunities to work directly with customers through the exclusive Frontline program to understand real-world usage and impact.

What you'll do

• Build high-quality, performant code for low-level infrastructure components supporting Foundry and Gotham
• Design and implement robust APIs and primitives for database, distributed systems, and data infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer problems into technical solutions
• Develop secure and scalable systems supporting research scientists, analysts, and enterprise users globally
• Participate in the full product lifecycle from design through production delivery
• Optionally embed with customers through Frontline program to gain direct product usage insights
