About this role
Pebl is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to Alfie, their in-house conversational AI, during a 12-week internship in Palo Alto. The role involves working on real-time AI systems, addressing challenges related to response quality, latency, and reliability while collaborating with senior engineers.
What you'll do
- Contribute to Alfie's core AI stack including model integrations and retrieval pipeline
- Develop automated test suites and quality scorecards for evaluation tooling
- Diagnose reliability and latency issues in production systems
- Collaborate with PM and engineering teams on product requirements
- Assist in internal AI tooling and evaluation processes
What they're looking for
- Strong foundation in Python
- Familiarity with LLMs and context engineering
- Experience with backend services and REST APIs
- Knowledge of ML evaluation methods and testing frameworks
- Hands-on experience with AI tools
