Design Engineer

About this role

Ramp is seeking a Design Engineer to create high-craft financial product experiences at the intersection of design and front-end engineering. You'll prototype directly in code, validate with customers, and ship polished interfaces using AI-first workflows with tools like Cursor and Claude Code.

What you'll do

• Own product surfaces end-to-end from concept through production, using layout and interaction to simplify complex financial workflows
• Build interactive prototypes in React and TypeScript, then validate with real users through self-serve research
• Extend and implement the design system, translating design principles into reusable components and patterns
• Design patterns that clearly communicate what AI agents are doing on behalf of customers while maintaining simplicity
• Ensure all work meets high standards for performance, accessibility, and reliability including Core Web Vitals and semantic HTML
• Document and share AI-native workflows using Cursor and Claude Code to elevate team capabilities
