Software Engineer, Accounting

About this role

Ramp seeks a mid-to-senior backend engineer to build the accounting infrastructure powering their finance automation platform. You'll design scalable systems handling millions of transactions while ensuring data integrity, auditability, and supporting AI-driven accounting features.

What you'll do

• Own backend services for accounting platform, syncs, and rules engine
• Build scalable systems processing transactions across multiple spend categories
• Establish technical foundation for AI agents to suggest accounting categorizations
• Improve internal developer tooling and team interfaces
• Maintain highest standards for correctness, observability, and auditability

• Backend engineering (3+ years)
• Distributed systems design
• Data integrity and reliability engineering
• Python or comparable modern backend language
• System observability and monitoring
• Stakeholder communication and requirements translation
• Financial integrations (nice to have)
• Compliance-heavy systems experience (nice to have)
