About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Vehicle Fluid Systems Engineer II in Long Beach to design and validate propellant, pressurant, and pneumatic systems for the Terran R rocket. You'll own fluid subsystem architecture from concept through flight, leveraging thermodynamics and system analysis to guide hardware design, manufacturing, and testing with direct factory involvement.
What you'll do
- Own vehicle fluid subsystem architecture, schematics, control schemes, and component selection/sizing
- Conduct fluid and thermal analyses using analytical methods (1D steady-state, fluid networks) for system characterization
- Lead and participate in system and hardware design reviews and manufacturing validation
- Define test objectives and support validation campaigns for system design, models, and performance
- Support integrated vehicle testing and launch operations
- Collaborate across teams to solve design and integration challenges
