About this role
Replit is looking for a Design Engineer to integrate design and engineering by enhancing its design system and optimizing front-end solutions. This role involves developing complex UI components, collaborating with product designers, and mentoring engineers to create efficient user experiences across their platform.
What you'll do
- Architect and implement sophisticated UI components and systems
- Lead the development of the Replit design system
- Create prototypes to explore new interaction models
- Collaborate with designers for precise implementation
- Establish front-end development best practices
- Mentor engineers on design and implementation techniques
What they're looking for
- 8+ years in front-end development
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React preferred)
- Knowledge of design systems and component architecture
- Ability to implement UI animations and interactions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration
- Familiarity with accessibility standards
