Software Engineer

About this role

Robinhood seeks an experienced Software Engineer to build and maintain backend services powering their financial platform in Menlo Park. You'll design scalable distributed systems, own features end-to-end, and collaborate across teams to address complex fintech challenges while mentoring colleagues.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models for core product functionality
• Build and evolve distributed systems supporting business-critical workflows, transactions, and integrations
• Own backend components through their full lifecycle from requirements to production support
• Optimize system reliability, performance, and scalability by identifying bottlenecks and applying best practices
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis for production issues
• Ensure backend systems meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements

• Backend service frameworks
• RESTful API design and development
