Rocket Lab is seeking an AI&T Engineer I to join their Optical Systems division in Tucson, AZ. This role focuses on the integration, alignment, and verification of advanced optical payloads for defense-related space missions, requiring hands-on technical skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Lead integration and calibration of EO/IR optical payloads
• Execute optical bench setup and alignment tasks
• Develop test procedures and validation processes
• Support environmental testing and monitor optical performance
• Resolve integration issues and performance deviations
• Collaborate with engineering teams for optical-mechanical-electrical integration

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's in Optical Engineering or related field
• Experience in optical system integration and testing
• Hands-on skills in optical alignment and metrology
• Familiarity with cleanroom practices and contamination control
• Strong data analysis and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
