Avionics Test Engineer I/II

About this role

Rocket Lab is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer I/II based in Long Beach, CA, to focus on the design, testing, and integration of electrical systems for space missions. The role involves developing test plans, conducting acceptance tests, and supporting hardware development for spacecraft.

What you'll do

• Develop test plans and programs for space hardware
• Manage Acceptance, Qualification, and Proto-Flight test programs
• Create automated test hardware and platforms
• Enhance design for testability and manufacturability
• Analyze COTS component test levels against mission requirements
• Contribute to engineering and business process development

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Experience in hardware development or electronics testing
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment and procedures
• Understanding of data acquisition systems
• Programming experience in Python [optional]
• Knowledge of satellite subsystems [preferred]
• Understanding of hardware design from concept to production [preferred]
• US citizenship required
