Flight Software Engineer II

Rocket Lab is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II in Long Beach, CA, to contribute to the development and testing of flight software for their Space Systems programs. The role involves hands-on software design, coding, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure software functionality for space missions.

What you'll do

• Develop flight software for Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux
• Create hardware drivers for spacecraft sensors and actuators
• Maintain unit tests within a Continuous Integration framework
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for software and hardware validation
• Assist in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Support on-orbit flight operations

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's in aerospace engineering, computer science, or related field
• 2+ years in embedded software development
• Proficiency in C and C++
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
• U.S. citizenship
