About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Ground Systems Engineer II to design and develop ground infrastructure for the Neutron launch vehicle, including launch pad structures, support equipment, and mechanisms. You'll work from concept through commissioning, collaborating with technicians and cross-functional teams while performing structural analysis, CAD modeling, and testing.

What you'll do

  • Design launch pad fixed assets such as test stands, launch mounts, and gantries
  • Design vehicle support equipment including transportation fixtures and lifting devices
  • Perform 2D/3D CAD modeling using NX and conduct structural analysis via hand calculations and numerical methods
  • Develop risk assessments, system hazard analyses, and FMEAs
  • Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of pad systems with technicians
  • Execute test plans to validate launch pad and vehicle interface performance
