Propulsion Systems Engineer II
About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Propulsion Systems Engineer II to lead spacecraft propulsion and fluidic system development for civil, commercial, and defense missions. You'll own products end-to-end, perform systems analysis and testing, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence across propulsion initiatives supporting lunar, Martian, and Earth observation programs.
What you'll do
- Lead development and technical direction of new or existing propulsion products and systems from concept through delivery
- Perform conceptual and detailed performance calculations, systems modeling, analysis, and design for propulsion systems
- Conduct requirements gathering, definition, management, and overall systems engineering activities
- Plan, execute, and analyze propulsion tests including instrumentation setup and data interpretation
- Manage project schedules, priorities, team tasking, and stakeholder communication
- Mentor engineers and technicians on technical and professional development while establishing team excellence standards
