Controls Engineer
About this role
Entry-level motion control engineer role focused on designing and maintaining embedded firmware for aerospace and defense motor drive products. You'll develop production-quality C code, collaborate with senior engineers to translate control algorithms into robust firmware, and grow your expertise in motor control and control-loop design within a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for motion control and motor drive products in C
- Contribute to system architecture decisions for control firmware with focus on maintainability and real-time performance
- Translate control algorithms into well-structured, production-quality firmware code
- Participate in code reviews, static analysis, and testing to uphold firmware quality standards
- Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation of control firmware in the lab
- Document firmware architecture, module interfaces, and design decisions
