Mechanical Test Engineer

About this role

The Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for conducting mechanical and environmental qualification testing for aerospace and defense components. This role includes planning and executing tests, designing fixtures, and managing both in-house and outsourced testing activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

What you'll do

• Plan and execute mechanical qualification and acceptance test procedures.
• Develop test plans and reports according to DO-160G and MIL-STD-810H.
• Design and build mechanical test fixtures and instrumentation setups.
• Manage testing at outsourced labs and witness tests at customer sites.
• Analyze test data and drive corrective actions with design engineering.
• Support the development of an in-house qualification test lab.

What they're looking for

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in qualification or environmental testing.
• Hands-on experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 testing.
• Proficiency with mechanical test instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Experience in designing test fixtures.
• Strong technical writing skills for documentation.
• U.S. Person status and ability to travel internationally.
