Electrical Engineer R&D Technician

Saronic Technologies is looking for an Electrical Engineer R&D Technician in Austin, TX, to assist with electrical prototyping, integration, and troubleshooting for advanced maritime systems. This role involves collaborating with engineers to validate designs and enhance assembly processes while ensuring safety standards are met.

What you'll do

• Assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies from drawings and schematics
• Integrate harnesses into unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and multi-use surface vehicles (MUSVs)
• Cooperate with engineers to improve harness designs during prototyping
• Solder and terminate connectors, ensuring robust electrical connections
• Document all build processes and changes for compliance
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

What they're looking for

• 2+ years of harness assembly experience
• Ability to read wiring schematics
• Experience with solder cup style connectors
• Familiarity with MIL-spec and marine-rated cables
• Strong documentation skills
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification preferred
• Knowledge of NAVSEA practices is a plus
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
