NPI Quality Engineer - Mechanical
About this role
Saronic Technologies seeks a NPI Quality Engineer – Mechanical to lead quality planning and risk management for new product introductions in autonomous maritime systems. The role bridges design, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure compliance with aerospace/defense standards while driving scalable, repeatable production from prototype through launch.
What you'll do
- Lead NPI quality activities across the product lifecycle, including design reviews, gate reviews, and production readiness assessments
- Develop and execute DFMEA and PFMEA analyses, identifying critical risks and driving mitigation actions to closure
- Define and execute product and process validation activities, establishing FAI requirements and verifying critical characteristic control
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality to flow down requirements and ensure alignment with production conditions
- Support material review board activities and drive root cause analysis for design, supplier, manufacturing, and field issues
- Develop and maintain control plans, inspection plans, and quality documentation within the QMS system
