Security Engineer, Systems Security

About this role

Saronic Technologies is looking for a senior Security Engineer to oversee the security lifecycle of its autonomous surface vessels. This role involves managing security from design through to operational deployment, addressing unique risks, and navigating evolving compliance frameworks.

What you'll do

• Own the security posture for vessel programs from architecture through fielding
• Drive threat modeling and define security architectures for vessel subsystems
• Identify and mitigate security risks specific to autonomous maritime platforms
• Manage the end-to-end authorization lifecycle for vessel programs
• Navigate DoD cybersecurity authorization processes and prepare documentation
• Engage with government program offices and classification societies

What they're looking for

• 6+ years in product security or systems security engineering
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity authorization processes
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and CMMC 2.0
• Experience with threat modeling and security architecture
• Technical knowledge to evaluate security controls
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ownership mindset and ability to work in ambiguity
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
