Software Engineer - Special Programs

About this role

Saronic Technologies is looking for a Software Engineer to develop innovative software solutions for autonomous maritime platforms. This role involves collaborating with engineers and addressing technical challenges in systems integration, navigation, and controls.

What you'll do

• Design and develop software for autonomous systems and edge devices
• Create APIs and system interfaces for hardware and cloud integration
• Work with engineering teams to rapidly prototype solutions
• Participate in field testing and government demonstrations

What they're looking for

• Experience with autonomous platforms and edge devices
• Understanding of path planning and sensor fusion
• Proficient in Python, C++, or Rust
• Familiarity with robotics frameworks like ROS/ROS2
• Experience with embedded Linux and software development
• Knowledge of serial protocols like RS-232 and CAN
• Skills in hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
