Manufacturing Engineer
About this role
Scout AI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to establish and manage the manufacturing operation for autonomous robotic systems from low-rate initial production through scaling. You'll own the complete hardware lifecycle, building manufacturing processes and infrastructure from the ground up for a defense technology startup.
What you'll do
- Transition products from prototype to production using NPI expertise while optimizing manufacturability and supply chain scalability
- Manage BOMs, resolve supplier issues, and ensure component quality and manufacturability
- Create and maintain work instructions, drive build plans, and schedule technicians on the line
- Design assembly frameworks and inventory management processes across multiple products
- Inform MES system design and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
