Engineer, Battery Structures

About this role

Scout Motors is seeking an Engineer for Battery Structures in Charlotte, NC, to contribute to the development of electric pick-up trucks and rugged SUVs. The role involves collaborating with battery suppliers, creating and optimizing CAD data, managing testing and integration of battery systems into vehicle architectures, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

What you'll do

• Develop battery structures for new product lines
• Create and optimize CAD data in collaboration with battery suppliers
• Integrate high voltage batteries into vehicle architecture
• Define design verification plans and coordinate with testing teams
• Manage resources and maintain collaborative team culture
• Ensure designs meet safety standards and regulations

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience in automotive roles
• Expertise in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and 2D drawings
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead engineering teams
• Familiarity with computer-aided engineering
• Proficient in MS Office products
