Engineer, IID Switches Design Responsible Engineer (DRE)

About this role

Scout Motors is seeking a dedicated Engineer to lead the design and release of electrical switches and switch modules for electric pick-up trucks and rugged SUVs. The role involves collaboration across various teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality, and safety standards.

What you'll do

• Design and release electrical switches and modules from concept to launch
• Collaborate with studio, purchasing, and finance to develop specifications
• Manage suppliers to meet cost, timing, and quality goals
• Define electrical interfaces in line with vehicle architecture
• Work with software teams on diagnostics and fault handling
• Propose system improvements based on consumer experience

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related fields
• 5-10 years in electromechanical components and switch design
• Strong technical expertise in human-machine interfaces
• Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE)
• Knowledge of diagnostics and switch fault handling
• Experience with industrial design and haptics
• Supplier management experience
• VW group experience (desirable)
