Security Engineer, Detection & Response
About this role
Sentry seeks a Security Engineer for Detection & Response to build and maintain detection systems, investigate security incidents, and manage identity controls across a developer-focused platform. You'll work autonomously on a small, high-trust security team to prevent threats while enabling rapid engineering velocity.
What you'll do
- Own and improve detection engineering systems, including alert triage and agentic response automation
- Investigate security incidents and contribute to incident response across Sentry and customer environments
- Maintain and operate identity and access management systems and controls
- Research and respond to emerging threats targeting Sentry's complex cloud and agentic architecture
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to deploy preventative controls and defense-in-depth strategies
- Build scalable, systematic solutions to security problems rather than manual reactive processes
