Software Engineer, Ingest

Sentry is looking for a Software Engineer (Ingest) to enhance their data ingestion systems and infrastructure. The role focuses on building scalable solutions for processing high volumes of events while collaborating with a team on core open-source projects.

What you'll do

• Design and operate global, scalable data ingestion infrastructure
• Collaborate with the Client Infrastructure team to improve data processing pipelines
• Solve complex distributed systems and performance optimization challenges
• Utilize programming languages like Rust and Python for system-level solutions
• Work with Infrastructure teams on high-volume event handling
• Conduct comprehensive testing and documentation of code

What they're looking for

• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in compiled programming languages (C, C++, Rust)
• Problem-solving skills for high-performance software development
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Passion for software and system design
• Experience with Python, Kafka, Redis, Postgres (bonus)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
