Research Engineer

About this role

Sesame is seeking a Research Engineer to develop and optimize evaluation pipelines for speech and multimodal models as part of their innovative voice agent technology. This role involves hands-on work with data curation, model deployment, and monitoring to ensure high-quality user experiences in real-time applications.

What you'll do

• Design and automate evaluation pipelines for speech and multimodal models
• Create tools for safe, versioned dataset curation
• Prototype and deploy advanced voice models for real-time applications
• Optimize training and inference for large-scale models
• Monitor model performance to detect quality regressions proactively
• Accelerate the development from ideas to production

What they're looking for

• Expertise in PyTorch
• Proficient software engineering skills with a focus on ML
• Experience with large language model training
• Expertise in evaluation metrics and user satisfaction
• Knowledge of ML lifecycle and deployment
• History of delivering complex ML projects
• Strong decision-making capabilities
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
