Software Engineer, Payments Infrastructure

Sierra is seeking a Software Engineer for its Payments Infrastructure team to develop secure protocols for payment interactions within its AI-driven platform. The role involves integrating security, payments, and infrastructural domains to create a seamless experience for agents processing customer transactions.

What you'll do

• Design secure-capture protocols for various communication channels.
• Build and enhance the tokenization platform for payment security.
• Maintain security perimeter around the cardholder-data environment.
• Implement detection mechanisms for cardholder data handling.
• Ensure ease of payment integration for other engineering teams.
• Set technical direction for complex engineering challenges.

What they're looking for

• 7+ years in backend or infrastructure development
• Strong security practices mindset
• Proficient in a systems programming language (Go preferred)
• Experience in setting technical direction on complex problems
• Ability to create clean abstractions and protocols
• Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with regulated data environments
• Background in cryptography or cloud security is a plus
