PCB Layout Engineer

About this role

Skydio is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to design complex printed circuit board assemblies for their advanced autonomous drones. The role involves working collaboratively with engineers across disciplines to ensure designs meet high standards of performance and manufacturability.

What you'll do

• Own layout of complex PCBAs for next-gen products.
• Establish design standards and workflows for scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve design trade-offs.
• Work with PCB vendors to ensure compliance with production standards.
• Drive improvements in design process and automation.
• Maintain libraries and design review processes.

What they're looking for

• Proficient in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
• Experience in high-speed, high-density PCB layout.
• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity principles.
• Skilled in rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation for PCB tools (nice to have).
• FAA Part 107 certification encouraged.
