Software Engineer Intern Fall 2026/Winter 2027

About this role

Skydio is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Fall 2026/Winter 2027 to join their Cloud Platform and Infrastructure team. Interns will work on building and improving cloud systems integral to the company's autonomous drones, tackling various technical challenges and contributing to impactful projects.

What you'll do

• Contribute to cloud infrastructure design and CI/CD systems
• Work on scalability and deployment in diverse environments
• Enhance telemetry and observability processes
• Assist in developing performance optimization systems
• Build frameworks for testing applications and simulating vehicle states
• Support the packaging of cloud offerings for different environments

What they're looking for

• Computer science fundamentals
• Experience with web applications or backend systems
• Proficient in Python, Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and Linux
• Understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
• Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached)
• Configuration management capabilities
