Snorkel AI
Software Engineer — Security
About this role
Snorkel seeks a Security Engineer to build and scale cloud security infrastructure across AWS, Kubernetes, and containerized environments. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to embed security into development workflows, manage cloud posture, investigate incidents, and architect secure-by-default systems for a growing AI platform.
What you'll do
- Design and operate Infrastructure as Code governance and Cloud Security Posture Management tooling with remediation coordination
- Architect secure AWS account structures, network segmentation, IAM policies, and encryption strategies across data-at-rest and data-in-transit
- Investigate security events, triage incidents, identify root causes, and drive remediation to resolution
- Establish secure-by-default patterns for Kubernetes and containerized workloads, including threat modeling and architecture reviews
- Assess and secure AI/ML product architectures, including trust boundaries and data flow through training and inference pipelines
- Own complex security projects end-to-end, from discovery and design through implementation and long-term maintenance
What they're looking for
- AWS cloud architecture (landing zones, multi-account patterns, IAM, KMS, VPC/network controls)
- Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools and policy-as-code frameworks
- Kubernetes and container security best practices
- Python and AWS-native automation scripting
- Threat modeling, security architecture review, and secure design assessment
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) for human and machine identities
- Compliance frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS benchmarks)
- Cross-functional communication and influence without positional authority
