About this role

Snowflake seeks an Implementation Engineer to lead enterprise customer deployments of Observe, their AI-powered observability platform built on the Snowflake Data Cloud. You'll design telemetry pipelines, migrate customers from legacy monitoring tools, and establish production-ready observability foundations that accelerate time-to-value and drive long-term success.

What you'll do

  • Lead structured implementations for enterprise customers from kickoff through production readiness
  • Design and configure telemetry ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces with parsing, enrichment, and routing
  • Work hands-on with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collectors to help customers adopt vendor-neutral standards
  • Migrate and modernize existing observability environments (Splunk, ELK, cloud-native tools) into Observe
  • Configure datasets, dashboards, alerts, and observability assets aligned to customer use cases
  • Identify technical risks and data quality issues early, then proactively address them with customers

What they're looking for

  • Observability platform architecture and telemetry pipeline design
  • OpenTelemetry instrumentation, collectors, and exporters
  • Experience with commercial/open-source observability tools (Splunk, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana)
  • Logs, metrics, traces data modeling and scale tradeoffs
  • Cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern application architectures
  • Kubernetes and containerized workloads
  • Customer-facing technical communication and problem-solving
  • SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering practices

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a recent observability migration project—what were the biggest challenges migrating from your previous platform, and how would you approach a similar Splunk-to-Observe transition?
  • Describe your experience designing telemetry pipelines at scale. How do you balance data ingestion volume, latency, and cost when configuring parsing and enrichment?
