About this role
SpaceX seeks an Automation and Controls Engineer to design and manage manufacturing automation for Starmind's orbital AI compute hardware. You'll own the complete production line—from assembly through testing—developing PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and safety-compliant electrical designs for high-volume satellite electronics manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design and commission factory automation projects, from concept through operational handoff
- Write and debug well-structured, documented PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
- Implement ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA-compliant safety systems for robots and equipment
- Create intuitive HMI screens to simplify machine operation and troubleshooting
- Design electrical systems meeting NEC, NFPA, and UL508A standards
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and team execution
