Automation & Controls Engineer, Infrastructure & Utility (Starship)

The Automation & Controls Engineer at SpaceX will be integral to the design, operation, and maintenance of automation systems critical for Starship's infrastructure at Starbase, TX. This role involves collaborating with teams to enhance and scale high-capacity utility systems to support groundbreaking space missions.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain automation controls for ground infrastructure.
• Lead projects and enhance systems at Starbase.
• Manage upgrades for control systems to meet production goals.
• Document SCADA systems and develop standardized automation.
• Create electrical control panel designs compliant with safety standards.
• Mentor engineers and technicians involved in automation.

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 1+ years experience in automation systems design.
• Familiarity with HMI applications and control devices.
• Experience with SCADA applications deployment.
• Ability to analyze electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of IEC-61131 programming.
• Experience with network design and troubleshooting.
• Intention to pursue a Professional Engineering license.
