Automation & Controls Engineer (Starlink Production)

SpaceX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for their Starlink production team in Bastrop, TX. This role involves leading projects related to automation systems, machine design, and factory operations to enhance the efficiency of Starlink's broadband internet deployment.

What you'll do

• Design and manage automation projects from ideation to operational hand-off
• Develop and debug structured PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
• Ensure factory safety with compliance to ANSI/RIA and OSHA standards
• Create user-friendly HMI screens for complex machines
• Design electrical systems in line with NEC and UL508A regulations
• Maintain project schedules and budgets

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
• 1+ years in industrial automation design
• Experience with electromechanical systems
• PLC programming, preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT
• Knowledge of electrical schematics and safety standards
• Proficiency in robotics programming
• Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems
