Automation & Controls Technician, Infrastructure & Utility (Starship)
About this role
SpaceX seeks an Automation & Controls Technician to install, configure, and maintain critical automation and SCADA systems supporting Starship's launch facilities, power generation, and utility infrastructure at Starbase, TX. You'll work cross-functionally to scale high-reliability systems while ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain automation, control, and SCADA systems for Starbase infrastructure
- Deploy, troubleshoot, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications in high-reliability environments
- Assemble and wire industrial electrical control panels compliant with NFPA 79/NEC/UL 508A standards
- Create and update technical work instructions, electrical schematics, and system documentation
- Audit manufacturing processes for safety improvements and automation opportunities
- Train junior technicians and support ground-up automation projects from commissioning through handoff

- IT/OT network troubleshooting and industrial communications protocols
