SpaceX

BAW Device Engineer (Starlink/Akoustis)

Bastrop, TXmidAdded today

About this role

SpaceX's Akoustis subsidiary seeks a BAW Device Engineer to develop and optimize bulk acoustic wave resonators for RF filters used in Starlink satellite communications. You'll use FEA simulations and design-of-experiments to improve resonator performance, process integration, and manufacturing efficiency while supporting filter designs and yield improvement.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize FEA models in COMSOL and HFSS for BAW resonator simulation
  • Improve bulk acoustic wave resonator performance and thin-film process for better yield and cycle time
  • Support RF filter design with resonator dimensions and process integration guidance
  • Create and refine equivalent circuit models for resonators to enable filter IC design
  • Plan and execute experimental DOE with multiple parameters and statistical analysis
  • Troubleshoot filter design, reliability, and yield challenges

What they're looking for

  • FEA simulation (COMSOL, HFSS)
  • BAW/MEMS device technology
  • RF circuit design and electromagnetics
  • Semiconductor device and process engineering
  • Statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE)
  • Equivalent circuit modeling
  • RF filter design
  • Problem-solving and technical communication
