BAW Filter Design Engineer (Starlink/Akoustis)

About this role

As a BAW Filter Design Engineer at Akoustis, a subsidiary of SpaceX, you will design and develop advanced RF filters for the Starlink project, utilizing innovative XBAW technology. Your role involves simulation, testing, and collaboration with various engineering teams to optimize filter performance and ensure successful integration within larger RF systems.

What you'll do

• Design and develop BAW filters from concept to production
• Perform advanced EM simulations to model and optimize filter performance
• Design RF modules integrating BAW filters with other RF components
• Optimize filter metrics, including insertion loss and bandwidth
• Collaborate with engineers for seamless filter integration
• Create design reports and documentation for production handoff

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar
• Experience with RF and communication systems
• Proficiency in EM simulation tools (HFSS, ADS, COMSOL)
• Familiarity with RF testing equipment
• Knowledge of BAW filter design and MEMS processes
• Scripting experience (Python, MATLAB) for automation
