About this role
SpaceX seeks a Build Engineer to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for Starship mechanisms, focusing on production efficiency, cost reduction, and rapid scaling. You'll partner with design and production teams to develop tooling, processes, and automation while managing transitions from development to full-rate production.
What you'll do
- Develop and manage production procedures and part/assembly transitions from development to manufacturing
- Review and optimize CAD designs for manufacturing efficiency and cost
- Design factory layouts and manufacturing processes for Starship and Super Heavy vehicles
- Design specialized tooling and fixtures to support production workflows
- Develop, execute, and refine test procedures for hardware validation
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks through process simplification and targeted automation
