Hardware Development Engineer, Power (Starlink)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer for its Power Electronics team, focusing on the design and testing of power conversion systems for Starlink satellites. The role entails collaboration with various engineering teams to develop hardware that provides high-speed broadband globally.

What you'll do

• Design and analyze DC-DC power converters for harsh environments
• Conduct electrical power system design trades and develop requirements
• Perform verification testing and analysis of electrical power systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create power electronics hardware

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
• 1+ years of experience in power converter development
• Knowledge of analog control and discrete logic design
• Experience in power electronics modeling and testing
• Understanding of fault tolerance design
• Familiarity with spacecraft electrical power systems
• Experience with solar arrays and lithium-ion batteries
