About this role

SpaceX seeks a Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starlink to investigate production and on-orbit failures, drive root-cause analysis, and implement design and process improvements to enhance satellite and consumer hardware reliability and manufacturing quality.

What you'll do

  • Perform hands-on failure analysis and root-cause investigation for production, test, and on-orbit failures
  • Develop and validate production processes for existing and next-generation hardware to maintain quality and throughput
  • Create data analysis programs to track yield, failure rates, and implement statistical process controls
  • Conduct build quality reviews and identify opportunities to reduce complexity and improve manufacturability
  • Collaborate with production teams on inspection plans and traceability requirements
  • Define and execute reliability testing strategies to monitor process health and detect long-term defects
