Integration Engineer, Heatshield (Starship)

SpaceX is seeking an Integration Engineer for the Heatshield of the Starship, focusing on the development and improvement of the thermal protection system. The role involves collaboration across various engineering disciplines to ensure effective solutions to thermal challenges during reentry.

What you'll do

• Design and qualify new thermal protection solutions
• Manage end-to-end solutions for thermal challenges
• Resolve production issues with flight hardware
• Analyze post-flight conditions to improve vehicle performance
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects with various engineering teams
• Collaborate with vendors to integrate new materials and processes

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical or thermal systems
• Strong knowledge of aerothermal heating
• Hands-on experience with thermal hardware
• Familiarity with production and installation processes
• Experience with CAD software like Siemens NX
• Basic thermal or mechanical analysis skills
• Ability to tackle open-ended design challenges
