Launch Engineer, Fluid Systems (Launch Pad)

SpaceX is looking for a Launch Engineer specializing in fluid systems to join its Launch Pad Engineering Team at Vandenberg. This role involves ensuring the design, installation, and operation of ground support equipment for Falcon rockets, while promoting safety and efficiency in launch pad operations.

What you'll do

• Oversee design and operation of various fluid systems at the launch pad
• Troubleshoot issues using thermodynamics and fluid dynamics knowledge
• Lead a technician team during pad build and maintenance activities
• Develop automation improvements for fluid systems
• Implement hardware and software upgrades to enhance operations
• Present engineering data to governmental agencies

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering fields
• Experience with fluid and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of control systems and instrumentation
• Familiarity with CAD software like SOLIDWORKS
• Programming skills in Python or similar languages
• Understanding of engineering standards
• Strong communication abilities
• Capacity to work under high pressure and time constraints
