About this role
SpaceX seeks a Maintenance Engineer to support high-pressure die casting operations for Starlink in Bastrop, TX. You will lead troubleshooting efforts, execute equipment improvement projects, and collaborate with engineering teams to maximize production equipment availability. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership of maintenance technicians on complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
What you'll do
- Lead maintenance technicians through troubleshooting and resolution of complex equipment failures
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment, process, and behavioral gaps
- Develop and execute improvement projects to maximize production equipment availability
- Conduct hands-on repairs of mechanical, electrical, fluid, pneumatic, and robotic control systems
- Implement predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, cycle monitoring) and manage CMMS systems
- Coordinate with engineering teams on design adjustments and machine upgrades
