Manufacturing Engineer, Machining Inspection (Starship)

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Machining Inspection for the Starship project. This role involves enhancing inspection methods and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency and reliability in manufacturing processes.

What you'll do

• Determine effective inspection methods and maximize machine uptime
• Increase inspection throughput through automation opportunities
• Maintain feedback loops with design and manufacturing teams
• Update engineering drawings for better manufacturability
• Drive inspection process initiatives for efficiency gains
• Contain non-conforming products and implement corrective actions

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics
• 1+ years of manufacturing or inspection experience
• Experience with precision metrology systems
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection procedures
• Proficiency in CNC programming
• Experience with machining equipment operation
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes
