SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Optical Fiber to support the development of manufacturing processes for optical fiber assemblies in the Starlink project. The role requires collaboration with design and test teams to enhance product reliability and facilitate the introduction of new products into mass manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Manage new product introduction and develop production processes
  • Design and implement test procedures to enhance reliability
  • Collaborate with suppliers for process improvements
  • Drive corrective actions and improvements on processes
  • Investigate non-conforming hardware and implement solutions
  • Provide design feedback to enhance manufacturability

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in design or manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with optical fiber assemblies
  • Knowledge of fiber technologies and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to adapt and innovate quickly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Statistics and process control knowledge
  • Experience in high volume production environments
