About this role
SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for the Starship program to manage supply chain operations for rocket components and assemblies. This role requires technical expertise in propulsion system fabrication processes, supplier oversight, and new product introduction to support aggressive production ramps and quality standards.
What you'll do
- Serve as technical point of contact for assigned rocket parts, solving supplier challenges and mitigating manufacturing/quality risks
- Own new product introduction including manufacturing method selection, supplier identification, and process development for production ramp-up
- Conduct design-for-manufacturing reviews early in development to ensure manufacturability
- Vet suppliers for quality and capability to meet aggressive delivery schedules in collaboration with procurement
- Create specifications and quality requirements; review issues and implement root-cause solutions at supplier or SpaceX level
- Lead containment activities and cross-functional problem-solving for supply chain defects
