Materials Engineer, Propulsion Materials

SpaceX is seeking a Materials Engineer specialized in propulsion materials to enhance rocket engine performance through materials and process optimization. This role focuses on additive manufacturing and contributes to the design and analysis of propulsion systems for Starship and Falcon vehicles.

What you'll do

• Support propulsion system design and manufacturing with materials expertise
• Enhance reliability of manufacturing processes via materials development
• Characterize physical, mechanical, and thermal properties of materials
• Develop and improve additive manufacturing processes and materials
• Conduct investigations using fractography and metallography
• Provide technical guidance related to designs and material specifications
