Mechanical Development Test Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Development Test Engineer to support the Starlink project, focused on improving hardware reliability and reducing development time. The role involves designing test equipment, conducting development tests, and collaborating with flight engineers to meet rigorous specifications.

What you'll do

• Design and fabricate test stands and test equipment
• Analyze structures and fluid systems for testing
• Supervise integration of test stands including mechanical assembly
• Operate test stands with precision and attention to detail
• Develop test requirements and drive testing campaigns

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years of industry experience
• Experience with mechanical structures and high-pressure systems
• Knowledge of test instrumentation components
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Basic programming skills (Python, JavaScript)
• Hands-on design and fabrication experience
• Ability to troubleshoot testing issues
